What is Tonton Jeb?
Tonton Jeb offers Senegalese pantry staples, fruit products, drinks and traditional personal care items. You can shop for your home or contact us about wholesale orders for your business.
Where are your products made?
Our collection is made and packed in Senegal. We work with growers and women’s cooperatives, and our pouches, bottles and jars are filled and sealed there before shipping abroad.
What do niébé, bissap and bouye mean?
Niébé is the local name for black-eyed peas, bissap refers to hibiscus, and bouye is baobab fruit. You may also see dakhar for tamarind, gerte for peanuts, karité for shea and sothiou for a traditional chewing stick.
Are all your products organic?
Some products in our collection are described as organic. Check the individual product description and packaging for the item you are buying. If you need certification details for a specific product, contact us before ordering.
What is the difference between hibiscus flowers and hibiscus powder?
Both are forms of hibiscus, also called bissap. The flowers are sold dried, while the powder is ground. Choose the form required for your preparation and follow the directions on the packaging.
What is the difference between a juice and a syrup?
Our Bouye Juice is a baobab fruit drink. Bissap Syrup and Ginger Syrup are syrup products intended to be diluted for drinking. Follow the preparation and storage directions on each bottle; the products should not be prepared in the same way simply because they share similar packaging.
Where can I check ingredients and allergens?
Refer to the label of the specific product you want to buy. Our collection includes peanuts and sesame seeds, so do not assume that every product is suitable for every allergy. Contact us before ordering if the information you need is not available on the product page.
Storage and orders
How should I store my products?
Follow the storage instructions and date markings on the packaging. Directions can differ between dry pantry products, juices, syrups, jams and personal care items, especially after opening.
How long do the products keep?

Are shea butter and baobab oil food products?
The Shea Butter and Baobab Oil in our Body & Care collection are offered for personal care. Follow the intended use and directions on their labels.
Do you ship to my location?

How much does shipping cost and when will my order arrive?
Shipping costs and delivery estimates depend on the destination and order. If you need a confirmed cost or delivery date, contact us before paying. The time needed to prepare an order is separate from the carrier’s transit time.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and the change you need. We will check the order’s status and let you know what can still be done.
What should I do if something arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact us with your order number, the name of the affected item and clear photos of the product and packaging. Keep the packaging while we review the issue so we can understand what happened and advise you on the next steps.
